6 Days Ndutu Tanzania safari
A breathtaking day-by-day journey navigating Tanzania’s iconic wildlife parks,
Day 1 Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Depart Arusha after breakfast and drive to Tarangire National Park (approximately 2 hours). Afternoon game drive among ancient baobab trees and large elephant herds. Tarangire is famous for its massive elephant populations — during the dry season, up to 300 elephants congregate along the Tarangire River. The park is also home to lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and over 550 species of birds. The iconic baobab trees, some over 1,000 years old, create a dramatic backdrop for wildlife photography. Return to your lodge as the sun sets behind the baobabs, casting golden light across the savannah.

Day 2 Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park
Morning game drive in Tarangire for one last chance to see the elephants and other wildlife. After lunch, transfer to Lake Manyara National Park (approximately 2 hours). Afternoon game drive in this compact but diverse park. Lake Manyara is famous for its tree-climbing lions — one of the few places in Africa where lions climb trees to escape the heat and insects. The alkaline lake attracts thousands of flamingos, creating a stunning pink spectacle along the shoreline. The groundwater forest is home to blue monkeys, baboons, and giant forest hornbills. Return to your lakeside lodge as the sun sets over the rift valley escarpment.

Day 3 Ngorongoro Crater
Early morning departure for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater — the world largest intact volcanic caldera. The crater floor is a natural enclosure home to approximately 30,000 animals including the Big Five: lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and the rare black rhino. The concentration of wildlife in the crater is extraordinary — you will see herds of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, elephants, and hippos in the soda lake. Picnic lunch on the crater floor with stunning views of the crater walls. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Return to your lodge on the crater rim as the sun sets over this natural wonder.

Day 4 Ngorongoro to Ndutu Plains
Depart after breakfast and descend the crater rim, driving south through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the Ndutu plains. This is the heart of the calving season — between January and March, over 500,000 wildebeest calves are born on these short-grass plains. The herds gather in massive numbers, creating one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on Earth. Afternoon game drive among the herds — watch as hundreds of calves take their first steps while predators lurk nearby. Lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and leopards all take advantage of the vulnerable newborns. The predator-prey action here is intense and dramatic. Return to your lodge as the sun sets over the Ndutu plains.

Day 5 Full Day Ndutu Calving
Full day on the Ndutu plains witnessing the calving season in all its glory. Depart at dawn with packed bush lunch. The Ndutu plains offer some of the best wildlife viewing in Africa during calving season — hundreds of thousands of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle spread across the short-grass plains. Watch as females give birth, with calves standing within minutes and running within an hour. The predators are constantly on the move — lions stalk the herds, cheetahs sprint across the open plains, and hyenas patrol at night. Your guide will position you for the best viewing and photography opportunities. The dramatic skies of the green season create stunning backdrops for wildlife photography. Return to camp at sunset, emotionally exhausted but transformed.

The scenic drive back to Arusha takes approximately 4 hours through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with final views of the crater rim. Arrive in Arusha by afternoon. Your safari ends here — but the memories of the calving season last forever.
